Les and Liz Ellis have been ambassadors to Dartmouth with its festivals and events for many years. As tour guides, their extensive knowledge of the town’s historical buildings and sites has proved a great asset. The Mayflower 400 team are delighted that they will be heading many of the tours for all of our visitors, highlighting Dartmouth’s significance in the Mayflower story during its 400 year commemorations throughout 2020 and beyond.
Les is well known in Dartmouth as its prize-winning Town Crier. During July he will once-again be competing for the Sir Francis Drake Armada Cup to be held from 21st to 23rd July 2017 in Salcombe, Kingsbridge and Dartmouth. The Peter Randall Memorial Cup will take place at 11am on Sunday 23rd July at the bandstand, Royal Avenue Gardens and the cry, organised by Les, will be ‘The Pilgrim Fathers’.
