Stile Antico – Music-drama commemorates 400 years since the sailing of the Mayflower
World-renowned vocal ensemble Stile Antico have created a unique music-drama film exploring the story of the Mayflower Pilgrims exactly 400 years after they set sail from Plymouth.
The drama is woven around extracts from ‘Of Plimouth Plantation’, the diary of William Bradford
Dr Stephanie Pratt Talk – Mayflower and the English views of Indigenous North Americans in the early 17th century
What views did the Mayflower Separatists hold towards the Indigenous Peoples of North America? Visual and written accounts of the interactions between colonists and Native peoples will be addressed in the talk given by Dr Stephanie Pratt, a Dakota (Sioux) and Anglo-American scholar living in Devon for over 30 years.
Richard Holledge – author of Voices of The Mayflower
Richard will base his talk on the research he did when writing Voices of the Mayflower, with a particular emphasis on Dartmouth.
His book tells the story of the mixed group that sailed from Europe to New England 400 years ago – some in pursuit of religious freedom but most adventurers in the quest for riches.
The Lyric Trio performs a programme of 17thC Music
Patricia Calnan Violin, George Robertson Viola, Vicky Evans Cello.
Including pieces by Cavalli, Telemann, Purcell, Corelli, Pachelbel, Ravenscroft, Eccles, Pearsall and Stainer.
Short Film Programme
A programme of four contemporary short films inspired by themes of the Mayflower story. These films are creative and thought-provoking – a completely different and refreshing take on familiar themes.
The Dartmouth Mayflower 400 Project
This specially commissioned film tells the fascinating story of Dartmouth’s Mayflower 400 Project – why it all started, what it has achieved and how it will be remembered.

A fun filled foodie run along the banks of the River Dart from Totnes to Dartmouth
Pilgrim Day Sail
1 June – sailing for underprivileged children in Pilgrim (day sail). Up to 9 children depending on ages and need for accompanying adults.
ASTO Mayflower Race – August 2021
15-20 August – Mayflower ASTO race from Southampton to Dartmouth. OYT’s Prolific chartered to take up to 15 underprivileged children for Dartmouth on this sail training event.
Mayflower River Parade August 28th 2021 (part of Regatta Week)
This year’s river pageant, that wasn’t, revisited in 2021 without the Matthew leading. The new event will be part of the 2021 Regatta week as a Parade of Sail.
In parallel on the Saturday, ‘Mayflower Day’ at the Flavel – another opportunity to revisit the Mayflower Week sessions of 2020
Model of the Mayflower is now in situ at the Museum, with their team working on a Mayflower exhibition. Sadly, still closed due to COVID.
