One of the primary objectives of Dartmouth Mayflower 400 is to encourage more people onto the water. In conjunction with the Royal Dart Youth Sailing Trust and Dartmouth Academy, we are sponsoring a crew of up to 15 disadvantaged young people to sail in the Ocean Youth Trust’s yacht Prolific as part of the Mayflower Race from Southampton to Dartmouth in August 2021, which is organised by the Association of Sail Training Organisations. This voyage would normally cost £505 per person but thanks to the generosity of our supporters, these places are now available completely FREE for selected candidates
A voyage with Ocean Youth Trust South is not just about learning to sail, a voyage is designed to develop confidence, team-working, the ability to cope with unfamiliar situations, and tolerance and understanding of others. This potentially life changing opportunity is open to young people aged 12 -18 years who live in, or are at school in, Dartmouth.
