To create a Project of this magnitude of course costs a considerable amount of money, and Dartmouth anticipates that funds will come from a number of sources:
We are fortunate to have been granted up to £40,000 of initial funding from Dartmouth Town Council (subject to our meeting a number of criteria) over the next three years, and this funding will be used as a platform to bid for funding from other sources.
Along with 10 other UK locations, Dartmouth is a partner in the National Mayflower 400 organisation. Although Dartmouth itself has not received any direct funding from Central Government, they have invested a considerable amount of money to set up the National Mayflower UK organisation who in turn have provided us with numerous valuable resources. It has also been announced recently that Central Government are providing a further £500,000 towards an International Travel Tourism campaign, designed to attract visitors from the UK & abroad to the Mayflower Towns. Various Travel Trade shows are being set up in regional centres around the country, and it is anticipated that International marketing will commence later in 2017.
